GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR COMPETITION
1. The Alessandro Giuliani Violin Competition Asian Round 2026 welcomes participants of any nationality.
2. Participants may register and participate in more than one division. Each participant is allowed to register in up to 3 Divisions.
3. A complete list of the requirements (Proof of Payment, Photo ID/Passport, Registration Form) must be submitted by 1st July 2026.
4. Participants are required to upload their Preliminary Round Video in the specified format to youtube, bilibili or any popular video upload website. Alternatively, participants may send their video recording to submissions@alessendrogiulianiviolin.com. Hardcopy CDs or DVDs will not be accepted.
5. The uploaded recording does not have to be of professional quality (i.e. studio recording with studio microphones), but should be a clear and accurate representation of the participant's playing.
6. Edited recordings will not be accepted.
7. Results of the Preliminary Round will be announced by the 1st of September 2026. Participants will be notified of their results via email.
8. Finalist will compete in Singapore for the Final Round in October 2026 and are required to perform the same pieces as the Preliminary Rounds. Any change in piece(s) must be approved prior to the Final Round.
9. Cuts in the music are not acceptable; repeats are not necessary; arrangements and transcriptions should be avoided.
10. Participants are not required to perform the pieces from memory.
11. Participants may be stopped during the performance if chosen repertoire and performance timings exceed the allotted performance duration.
12. Participants are required to provide piano accompaniment for the Live Round of the competition. Participants may reach out to the competition organizers for an accompanist based in Singapore.
13. Participants competing in the Final Round are required to print three copies of their repertoire for the judging panel. The copy MUST NOT be marked with any identifying marks ( student’s name, teacher’s name, school’s name etc). However, teaching instructions (fingering, pedaling, bowing, etc.) need not be erased.
14. There will be no refunds given to any parties participating in the competition.
15. Decisions made by the judging panel are final.
16. The order of performances for the Final Round will be determined by the organisers.
17. ALL participants will receive certificates and comment sheets. All winners must collect their awards in person.
